Fundación Carolina Summer Course on Feminist Foreign Policy

Within the framework of the summer courses held every year by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in El Escorial, the Fundación Carolina promotes the course Advances and challenges of Feminist Foreign Policy in Latin America and Spain, which will take place from 7 to 9 July 2025. Registration at this link.

The objective of this Summer Course is to discuss the status of Feminist Foreign Policy, understood as a strategic approach that seeks to integrate the gender perspective in all areas of international relations, from diplomacy to trade, security and development cooperation.

Through the analysis of the experiences of countries such as Spain, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, we will review their current progress and challenges. It will also reflect on feminist cooperation and the role of women in the peace and security agenda. It will also include a space to analyse the gaps in women’s education, leadership and substantive participation, as well as future scenarios of the feminist agenda.

There will be foreign policy leaders in Spain and Latin America, representatives of international organizations, cooperation agencies, academia, think tanks, NGOs and women who exercise international leadership. The course is aimed at students and professionals in the field of international cooperation, international relations, political science, gender studies and diplomacy.
