Fundación Excelentia brings ‘Zimmer & Williams and 100 Years of Cinema’

 

Next Sunday, July 13 at 8 pm, the Fundación Excelentia presents in the Teatro Real of Madrid the concert Zimmer & Williams and 100 Years of Cinema.

 

This is a must to enjoy the best soundtracks of the two cinema geniuses. In addition, the Royal Film Concert Orchestra will tour the most iconic film soundtracks of the last 100 years by other composers.

 

John Williams was born in New York on 8 February 1932. The son of a jazz percussionist, Williams immersed himself in the musical world as a child, learning to play the piano and other instruments. Studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Juilliard School, where he honed his skills as a pianist and composer. Williams began his career in the film industry working as an orchestrator and conductor at Hollywood film studios. He is the author of iconic soundtracks such as Jurassic Park, Star Wars, E.T., Indiana Jones, among many others.

 

Hans Zimmer (born 12 September 1957 in Frankfurt am Main) is a German composer of soundtracks, characterized by the integration of electronic music and symphonic-orchestral arrangements. He has received film awards such as the Golden Globes, BAFTA, Emmy, Saturn, Grammy and two Academy Awards for his work on The Lion King (1994) and Dune (2021), for which he has been nominated 10 times. Today, he is considered one of the most outstanding composers in Hollywood.

 

Under the baton of master Fernando Furones, in the concert you will hear such famous pieces of cinema as Jurassic Park, E.T., Rocky, Star wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, The rock, What the wind took away, Braveheart, Life is beautiful, The Lion King, Inception, Titanic, The Lord of the Rings, Shark, Harry Potter, Hook, Indiana Jones or Gladiator.
