Music Festival 2026 at the Institut Français in Madrid

The Institut Français in Madrid is organizing a fantastic musical evening to celebrate International Music Day! On Saturday, June 20th, enjoy a night of reggaeton and perreo with the Parisian collective Divin0, who will be joined by a drag host, two DJs, and two dancers for a great time from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Organized as part of the “Pride in French” series, the event will take place in the courtyard of the Institut Français (Calle Marqués de la Ensenada, 12, 2nd floor, Madrid). Admission is free until capacity is reached.

Started in France in 1982, the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival) has become a European and international celebration. Coinciding with the summer solstice, it is celebrated every June 21st and aims to promote music in all its forms. International Music Day brings together all generations and all musical styles. It’s a unique opportunity to celebrate music, diversity, and community in a festive and engaged atmosphere.

Our 2025 edition featured the exceptional presence of the collective “Maraboutage,” a leading name in the European festival scene, a special guest from Marseille. An artistic and political movement that champions diversity, bodily freedom, and the transformative power of music and dance. For two intense hours, the Institute’s courtyard vibrated to the rhythm of Afrofuturist, global, and electronic sounds.

For this edition of the music festival, the Institut français de Madrid, continuing with the same commitment to having fun and uniting diverse communities, will host a show by the Parisian collective Divin0 on Saturday, June 20, 2026, starting at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.).

For their show in the courtyard, we’ll have a drag host, two DJs, and two dancers!

The event, completely free and open to the public, will be an exceptional opportunity to enjoy a unique artistic offering that reclaims the party as a political, cultural, and emotional space. In a world marked by tensions and exclusions, Divin0 responds with love, rhythm, and community.

In addition to the music, several French food vendors belonging to the IF Pass will be present: stands selling choux pastries, éclairs, crêpes… and savory treats from the Institut’s café, accompanied by drinks and cocktails for all tastes.

The collective: Divin0

Divin0 is an artistic project born in Paris, with the aim of creating safer spaces and presenting the global culture of perreo and reggaeton with an open vision where each team member contributes their own talent: music, dance, video, photography, drag performances, and styling.

Divin0 presents reggaeton culture and its dance, perreo, pushing the boundaries of the genre and fusing it with street jazz, wacking, hip-hop, contemporary dance… always encouraging the audience to join in on the dance floor, regardless of their skill level. Divin0 also offers drag shows, using humor to convey messages and values.

Like our recent events, this collective reflects the values we want to highlight as a cultural venue. Of course, Divin0 enters the world of reggaeton with a purpose: to promote body positivity, a safe dance floor, and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community. Divin0 has a strict code of conduct during parties: respect and consent, always. Discrimination, intimidation, violence, and body shaming are not tolerated. They are also committed to giving prominence to women and gender minorities in reggaeton, while passionately working to build bridges between artists from Latin America, France, and Europe, and to share the history of reggaeton culture.
