On the occasion of the bicentennial celebrations of the independence of Central American countries, the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) is organising the international exhibition El pasado adelante (The Past Forward).

This is a joint exhibition that will have 7 simultaneous venues: the Casa de América in Madrid and the 6 Cultural Centres of the Spanish Cooperation in Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. The exhibition will present a panorama of the region’s most vibrant contemporary art from 19 November 2021 to 5 February 2022. In each country, the most renowned local curators with international careers have been chosen, and all of them form part of the general curatorial council of the show, under the coordination of the directors and curators of the project: Tamara Diaz Bringas and Ricardo Ramón Jarne. More information on Casa América’s website.
