CNI had warned of a social media “call” to launch an “assault by fence and sea” on Ceuta

For her part, Margarita Robles asserted this Thursday, following the declassification of the documents, that “everyone”—the Government, the Armed Forces, the institutions, the Police, and the Civil Guard—tried “to do their job as best as possible,” but admitted that “without a doubt, everything can be improved.” She also warned that the “magnitude” of the stampede in Ceuta on July 30 was “unforeseeable” because it had “few precedents” in Spain or any other European country. National Court For her part, Judge María Tardón of the National Court has requested that the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice, and Relations with the Cortes send her the declassified documents to include them in the case investigating the mass entry of immigrants into the autonomous city. The magistrate maintains that "we are faced with criminal conduct allegedly committed abroad that has seriously attacked the territorial integrity of Spain, which is guaranteed in Article 2 of the Constitution, using for this purpose the mass entry into our country, which has been compounded by irregular migration flows that have seriously affected the lives and rights of the citizens of Ceuta." In her order admitting jurisdiction, which includes a report from the Public Prosecutor's Office recommending an investigation into these events, the investigating judge cites the report from the National Center for Immigration and Borders (CENIF) on the unfolding of events. This report demonstrates that these were not incidental, occasional, or spontaneous actions, but rather a process in which the migratory objective served only as a formal cover. The judge indicates that in the period leading up to the mass entry of July 30, a sustained and escalating situation developed at the entrances to Ceuta, while also highlighting the crucial role of social media in the widespread dissemination of the call to action. “The confluence of these factors was detected by the Police Unit that has prepared the report of the events contemplated here, the National Center for Immigration and Borders (CENIF), which, on 29/07/2026, issued a first Risk Alert of Mass Entry for dissemination to the Border Posts of Ceuta and Melilla through the National Center for Coordination of Border Posts of the CGEF (CEFRONT), in which the forecast of an EXTREME risk for a scenario of swimming entries + jumping the fence in a coordinated manner was stated,” the judge explains.Enviar comentarios
