Robles announces shipment of power supply equipment to Ukraine

The Diplomat Defense Minister Margarita Robles announced on Tuesday that Spain will soon send autonomous power supply equipment to Ukraine to guarantee the electricity supply, following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. Robles made this announcement during her videoconference address at the thirty-sixth meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine, known as the 'Ramstein Format,' where she was accompanied by the Secretary General for Defense Policy, Admiral Juan Francisco Martínez Núñez, according to a press release from the Ministry. The meeting focused on Ukrainian air defense capabilities, drones, missiles, and artillery ammunition needed to continue its defense. During her address, Robles affirmed that Spain maintains as a priority the most urgent needs conveyed by the Ukrainian authorities and recalled, in this regard, the delivery since February of more than 70 air defense missiles of different types, including 'Patriot' missiles. Furthermore, the minister reaffirmed Spain's commitment to continue providing air defense support within the country's capabilities. She also announced a planned shipment of autonomous power systems to guarantee electricity supply following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. At the close of the meeting, Robles emphasized that Ukraine remains a priority for Spain. "Our support is total and unwavering," the minister affirmed. The videoconference was chaired by her German counterpart, Boris Pistorius, and the UK Secretary of State for Defence, Wes Streeting, and included the participation of NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the Ukrainian Minister of Defence, Yevhen Khmara. In addition to NATO and Ukrainian military officials, the European Union was represented by Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius, who focused his remarks on the bloc's support efforts.
