On the occasion of the Romanian Culture Day, the Instituto Cultural Rumano in Madrid invites you to participate in the Continuous Reading of the poetry of Mihai Eminescu and other Romanian poets, a meeting open to the public in which attendees can become protagonists through the reading aloud of poetic texts provided on the day of the event.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, at 6.30 pm, at the Biblioteca Nacional of Spain (Paseo de Recoletos, 20-22, Madrid).
The event is organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Romania, the Biblioteca Nacional of Spain and the Collegial Association of Women Writers of Spain (ACE).

The year 2026 is of particular importance for cultural relations between Romania and Spain, as it marks the 145th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and 20 years of uninterrupted activity of the Instituto Cultural Rumano in Madrid. In this context, the Biblioteca Nacional of Spain will welcome Romania as a guest country for the Contexts programme. European Plots at the BNE, through a cycle of literary encounters bringing together Romanian and Spanish authors, journalists and cultural agents.
The session will include a reading of poems by Mihai Eminescu, considered the national poet of Romania and an essential figure of European Romanticism, as well as other Romanian authors, in a cultural dialogue that celebrates literature as a space of encounter and shared memory.
