The Polish pianist Marcin Masecki presents his tour of Spain

With the collaboration of the Instituto Polaco de Cultura, the renowned Polish pianist and composer Marcin Masecki returns to Spain to present his new project, Boleros y más, with a tour that will pass through Barcelona (today 3 December), Madrid (tomorrow 4 December) and San Sebastián (Saturday 6 December).

Masecki will perform in classic trio format, accompanied by Max Mucha (double bass) and Jerzy Rogiewicz (drums).

Composer of soundtracks for titles such as Cold War by Paweł Pawlikowski and Mr. Jones by Agnieszka Holland, as well as HBO and Netflix productions, Marcin Masecki offers a deeply personal look at Latin American music on these dates, interpreting and singing boleros, Brazilian corals and Argentine tangos. The result is a unique dialogue between these traditions and their unmistakable musical language, one of the most versatile creators on the European scene.

Considered one of the most original artists in Poland, Masecki moves naturally between classical music, jazz, improvisation and experimentation.

Born in Warsaw, but raised in Popayán (Colombia), Masecki grew up among cultures and sounds that deeply marked his sensibility. Later he studied at the Berklee College of Music (Boston), where he met the Argentinian Candelaria Sáenz Valiente, a meeting that connects with his own family history in Buenos Aires.

Today he is a pianist, composer, arranger, conductor and educator. In Warsaw he is a central figure in contemporary cultural and musical life.
