The Diplomat
With the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan, the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) of Azerbaijan signed last Monday 27 October in Barcelona a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will facilitate academic dialogue and connect communities of experts from Spain and Azerbaijan in security, connectivity and development.
To achieve this objective, the Embassy has signed this agreement with the think tank Ágora Diplomática, in the person of its president, Pau Herrera. The Director of the AIR Center Department, Vasif Huseynov, plans to exchange publications, participate in conferences and organize seminars and joint programmes.
The pact is framed in a moment of increasing attention towards the South Caucasus, region that connects the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, and which gains strategic relevance for European energy diversification and Eurasian connectivity.
The initiative also reinforces the European dimension of the project, in a context where EU foreign policy pays increasing attention to the eastern flank and seeks alliances that translate regional complexity into verifiable proposals, through joint reports and conference cycles.
