The stand of Ecuador at Fruit Attraction, the most important fruit and vegetable fair in Europe, was inaugurated by the Ecuadorian Embassy with the participation of more than 60 agro-industrial companies distributed in a space of 1,300 m 2, which occupies almost one third of the Hall 12 destined for the Americas.

The official opening was presided by the Minister of Agriculture of Ecuador, Danilo Palacios;  the Ambassador of Ecuador, Wilma Andrade; the Counsellor of Pro Ecuador, Borys Mejía; the Executive Director of Asociación de Exportadores de Banano del Ecuador (AEBE), José Antonio Hidalgo; the Executive Director of the Ecuador Banana Marketing and Export Association (ACORBANEC), Richard Salazar, and the representative of the Ecuadorian Export and Investment Promotion Corporation (CORPEI), Mary Francis Andrade.

In her speech, the Ambassador Wilma Andrade highlighted the effort and vision of the Ecuadorian companies present at the fair: “They make a great effort to bring products of very high quality that have allowed us to reach international markets with an exportable offer of first line. Ecuador is the first banana exporter in the world and that implies the effort of our producers, which promote the generation of employment. We have before the government President Daniel Noboa who believes in private enterprise and knows that development is achieved through joint action between the public and private sectors.” , he said.

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Danilo Palacios, stressed the commitment of the Ecuadorian government to the internationalization of national production: “On behalf of our president, I would like to congratulate the companies and exporters that make our country grow. We will always accompany and promote them at international fairs. Ecuador has the potential to grow and diversify; we see it in the diversity of products that are seen at this fair: bananas, cocoa and exotic fruits like mango, avocado, pitahaya… Today more than ever we need to make country united.”

The Ecuadorian authorities received the Minister of Agriculture of Spain, Luis Planas, who visited the Ecuador stand and congratulated the large unified institutional presence of the country’s companies at the fair.
