The Council of Ministers has submitted to Parliament the Agreement between the Kingdom of Spain and the Plurinational State of Bolivia on cooperation in the fight against crime and security, and has also authorized Spain’s expression of consent to be bound by the agreement.

The agreement, signed in Madrid on March 12, 2025, is an international treaty that establishes a generic framework for cooperation in the fight against crime in its various manifestations, especially in its organized forms, with the aim of strengthening and deepening police cooperation between both countries in operational and investigative activities.

Cooperation and collaboration between the parties will include the exchange of information and the provision of assistance in the fight against terrorism, illicit drug trafficking, and the control of illegal immigration, including human trafficking, which are a concern affecting both States.
