On Friday, October 11 at 18.30, the Fundación Carlos de Amberes hosts the concert-presentation Two Looks (Café Bauhaus Award 2024), by the Jouska String Quartet. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
Through the works of Ravel, Webern, Shostakovich and Silvestrov, the quartet will present this exceptional proposal in the chapel of the foundation. The project has recently received the Café Bauhaus Award 2024, an award given by the European Union Youth Orchestra, with the sponsorship of the European Commission, and which recreates the inspiration of the Bauhaus movement under a current vision, With the aim of connecting excellence in musical performance with contemporary themes such as climate change, sustainability, gender equality, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Jouska String Quartet was founded in 2023, and resides in Basel, where it is guided by renowned mentors, mainly Rainer Schmidt, Saisko Sasaki and Jiří Němeček. The members of the Jouska String Quartet, Marija Strapcāne and Sofía Fasla-Prolat, violins; Marina Prat Mir, viola, and Kiril Fasla-Prolat, cello; have been trained in important European academic institutions such as the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Musik Akademie Basel, Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique Lyon, Liceu de Barcelona or Anton Bruckner Universität Linz, mainly. In addition, the quartero is a resident group of the Music Festival of Chamber Musical Project Villa de Lerma.
