The Ambassador of Nicaragua visits twinned cities of Catalonia

On Monday 8th April, the Nicaraguan ambassador, Maurizio Carlo Gelli, paid a working visit to the towns of Girona and Begues in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, twinned with the communities of Bluefields and El Sauce in Nicaragua, respectively.

 

In Girona, the Nicaraguan ambassador was received by the mayor, Lluc Salellas i Villar. In Begues, he was received by the First Deputy Mayor, Department of Social Welfare and Social Action, María Llauradó i Font, on behalf of the Mayoress, Mercé Esteve i Pi.

 

“With this visit, says the communiqué from the Nicaraguan Embassy, the Nicaraguan government recognises the solidarity work and commitment of the mayors of Girona and Begues to maintain the twinning arrangements with the Nicaraguan communities of Bluefields and El Sauce. It also reaffirms Nicaragua’s ties of friendship, solidarity and collaboration with these Spanish cities”.
