Until 26 November, the Teatro de la Comedia in Madrid (Calle del Príncipe, 14) presents La discreta enamorada, a masterpiece by Lope de Vega and one of the great comedies of entanglement of the Golden Age.
The Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico has premiered this play in Madrid after its run in several Spanish cities, where more than 17,000 people have already seen this production. The production is directed by Lluís Homar and performed by the Joven Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico: Íñigo Arricibita, Xavi Caudevilla, Cristina García, Ania Hernández, Nora Hernández, Antonio Hernández Fimia, Pascual Laborda, Cristina Marín-Miró, Felipe Muñoz, Miriam Queba, María Rasco and Marc Servera, who are accompanied on stage by actors Montse Diez and Lluís Homar.
The play tells the story of the attempts of Fenisa, the discreet lover, to assert her love for the young Lucindo, with whom she is in love without his knowledge. Everything becomes complicated when Fenisa is forced into an arranged marriage with Captain Bernardo, a much older man, for financial gain.
The music takes centre stage in the staging, performed live during the performance by the young cast of actors and actresses of the Joven Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico. The musical composition by Marc Servera is the result of laboratory work during the six months of training of the JCNTC. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
