The director of the Instituto Cervantes, Luis García Montero, has appointed the new directors of the Dakar and Belo Horizonte centers, Concepción Barceló and Eduardo Maura, respectively.
The appointments were made at the proposal of the Secretary General of the Instituto Cervantes, Carmen Noguero, with the agreement of the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and President of the Board of Directors, Pilar Cancela, and after the Board of Directors had been consulted.
Concepción Barceló (Elda, 1960) has a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Valencia and a master’s degree in Educational Center Management. With an extensive professional career at the Instituto Cervantes, she has been Head of Studies for thirty years in different countries and cities: Italy (Rome, Milan and Naples), Poland (Warsaw) and Morocco (Rabat), where she has also participated in the creation of extracurricular cultural activities.
Eduardo Maura (Valladolid, 1981) holds a degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of Deusto, a doctorate in Philosophy and a master’s degree in Contemporary Art. He has been a professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, an independent cultural consultant/manager and a member of Congress for Bizkaia. He has participated in numerous seminars, congresses and dissemination courses and in research and teaching innovation projects. He is also the author of publications, translations and editing works related to his professional career.
