Turkish Embassy collects aid for earthquake victims

The Turkish Embassy (Calle Rafael Calvo, 18 – 2º AB) is collecting humanitarian aid for those affected by the recent earthquake in the south of the country, which the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has put the number of dead at 3,549 and the number of injured at 22,168.

 

They will be collecting warm clothes in good condition, blankets, non-perishable food and other items such as portable batteries for mobile phones. If brought in boxes, please write the contents of the boxes with permanent marker on the cardboard itself so that they can be categorised appropriately.

The main help needed is winter clothing (adults and children): coats, mackintoshes, boots, jumpers, trousers, gloves, scarves, hats, socks and underwear. Other materials are also essential in these circumstances, such as tents, beds, mats (for tents), blankets, sleeping bags, thermoses, torches, portable batteries for mobile phones, food packages (non-perishable food and canned food), baby formula, nappies, cleaning and hygiene materials and sanitary towels.
