The Spain-U.S. Council Foundation unveiled this week its new Internet portal, in order to make it “more dynamic and accessible.”
“New year, new website! After many months of intense work, we are pleased to present to you the new web portal of the Spain-U.S. Council Foundation,” the institution announced. “Thanks to its new design, more dynamic and accessible, you will be able to navigate from any device and keep up to date with all the latest news and upcoming activities of the Foundation.”
“We also invite you to learn about our more than 25-year history by visiting all the sections of the page, where you will discover our history, our most emblematic programs, such as the Spain-U.S. Forum or the Young American Leaders program, the Bernardo de Gálvez Award, the exhibition projects we have developed in recent years, our list of publications and the history of activities and collaborations we have carried out with friendly and allied institutions on both sides of the Atlantic,” it added.
The new website was launched a few days after the Board of Trustees appointed Repsol CEO Josu Jon Imaz as President of the Council Foundation, replacing Juan Lladó, CEO of Técnicas Reunidas, who had been in the post for four years. Imaz, elected for an initial period of two years, becomes the eighth president of the Spain-US Council Foundation, after Jaime Carvajal, Antonio Garrigues Walker, José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, Juan Rodríguez Inciarte, Juan María Nin, José Manuel Entrecanales and Juan Lladó.
The Spain-US Council Foundation is a private non-profit organization whose Board of Trustees is made up of major companies, cultural and academic institutions and members of the Spanish public administration. The Foundation also has the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as its main strategic partner for the achievement of its foundational goals, and the support of the Embassy of Spain in the United States and the Embassy of the United States in Spain and Andorra in the organization of many of its programs and activities.
A reference entity in the field of public diplomacy between the two countries, the Council Foundation was established in 1997 with the purpose of strengthening the ties between the two countries and developing joint initiatives that favor bilateral relations in all areas of activity, from the economic and business to the scientific, educational and cultural spheres. This mission has been shared since its inception with its U.S. counterpart, the United States-Spain Council.
