Carlos Lucini took up his new post as Deputy Director General of Chancery at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last August, to fill the vacancy left by Pilar Terrén when she was appointed Ambassador to Nicaragua.
Lucini, who is the person responsible for the most direct dealings with the Embassies accredited in Spain, had been assigned to the Deputy Directorate General since September 2021, as Head of the Foreign Representations Area,
A diplomat since 2006, he previously held the second head posts at the Spanish Embassies in Libreville and Vilnius and was posted as Counsellor at the Embassy in Dublin.
He has also been coordinator of activities at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and head of the Continental Asia Area.
