As part of the Great French Actresses series, the Instituto Francés is focusing on the actress Emmanuelle Riva and will be screening the 1959 film Hiroshima Mon Amour, starring her and Eiji Okada, directed by Alain Resnais, tomorrow Friday at 22:00.
After shooting a film in Hiroshima, a young French actress spends her last night in a hotel in the company of a Japanese man. They are strangers, but what could be a fleeting one-night stand turns into an intense love affair that makes her recall an impossible love lived in Nevers (France) a few years earlier. The love affair then becomes an introspective process through which the woman reconstructs her past and reveals her innermost feelings to her partner. Bookings can be made through this link.
