Yesterday, 11 February 2022, marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Spain.
In a statement from the Azerbaijani Embassy, it is stressed that “the strong friendly relations based on dialogue and mutual understanding established between Azerbaijan and Spain over the past 30 years are developing on an upward trajectory. The cooperation between the two countries covers political, economic, energy, cultural, tourism, humanitarian, sports and other fields”.
“On the basis of the norms and principles of international law, the communiqué continues, Azerbaijan and Spain support and respect each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of their internationally recognised borders. The high-level political dialogue fosters the development of successful cooperation between the two countries at the multilateral level. The two countries share views on a number of issues on the international agenda; they are allies in the fight against international terrorism, extremism and separatism. Cooperation and mutual support in the framework of international and regional organisations is one of the indicators of good relations”.
The note concludes by stating that “the steps taken to further develop relations in the economic, tourism, cultural and other fields, and to expand the legal framework, open new favourable prospects for the development of cooperation between our countries. The high-level relations between the parliaments of the two countries contribute significantly to the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Spain. The 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Spain is a great opportunity to further strengthen and deepen cooperation between the two friendly countries and their peoples.
