The Ambassador of Brazil, Pompeu Andreucci Neto, hosted a reception last Wednesday at his official residence in Madrid on the occasion of the award ceremony of the insignia of the Order of Rio Branco granted by the President of the Brazilian Republic, Jair Bolsonaro.

 

The recipients, who received the insignia for promoting bilateral Spanish-Brazilian relations, were the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida; the President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi Lecanda, President of the CEOE; and Paradigma Solution Project Manager, Cleo Costa.

 

The Order of Rio Branco, named after the patron saint of Brazilian diplomacy, the Baron of Rio Branco, was established in 1963 with the aim of encouraging the practice of actions and deeds worthy of honourable mention.
