The Diplomat
Ambassador Vivia Chang, representative of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Spain, took part in the presentation of the fifth edition of the L.E.V Festival held from 22 to 24 September at the Matadero Madrid contemporary creation centre, in which two groups of Taiwanese artists are taking part.
At the presentation, Ambassador Chang was accompanied by the Director of the Taiwanese Cultural Division in Spain, Augusta Chang; the Director General of Cultural Activities of Madrid City Council, Rafael Cabrera; the Director of Matadero, José Luis Romo, and the organisers of the L.E.V. Festival, Cristina de Silva and Nacho de la Vega.
Representing Taiwan, the artist collective NAXS.Corp participated in the festival with an interactive video installation at the Centro de Experiencias Inmersivas MAD-Madrid Artes Digitales, in which the audience was able to enter the virtual space of the piece through their mobile device and interact with other visitors in the installation.
In the audiovisual concerts section, on Friday 22 September the other collective that has travelled from the city of Taipei, XTRUX, was presented in collaboration with the artist Venus Ex Machina, who fuse their work through musical production with 3D video projection in the Auditorium of the Casa del Lector.
