Together with the Italian ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, the director of the Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, the pianist Paolo Andreoli and the two brilliant students of the Modena Città Belcanto courses, the soprano Iolanda Massimo and the tenor Vincenzo Tremante, gave an excellent performance of the great works of the Neapolitan tradition, ranging from 18th century opera (Cimarosa, Pergolesi, Paisiello, etc.) to singer-songwriters’ songs (Reggiorno d’autore). ) to singer-songwriters’ songs (Reginella, Fenesta vascia, Torna a Surriento, O’ sole mio, among others), which enchanted and captivated the audience. The Modena Città del Belcanto project is promoted by the Fondazione di Modena, Comune di Modena, Fondazione Teatro Comunale and Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Vecchi – Tonelli” and was born on the basis of a first pilot experience carried out in 2004 with the advanced course in lyrical singing taught by Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Raina Kabaivanska and Leone Magiera.
