Poland’s ambassador to Spain, Marzenna Adamczyk, is to leave her post, which she has held for five years, at the end of August, The Diplomat has learned.
Marzenna Adamczyk plans to return to her post as professor of Hispanic studies at the University of Warsaw.
The ambassador has been intensely active during her years in Spain, where she had previously served as cultural counsellor at the embassy (from 1999 to 2005) and then, after becoming ambassador to Cuba, as consul general of Poland in Barcelona.
A great connoisseur of the Spanish language, history and political reality, last Tuesday, after the presentation of the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland to the Director of the Elcano Royal Institute, Marzenna Adamczyk, she spoke of the ties that unite her with our country, and ended by singing “Suspiros de España” (Sighs of Spain).
