Participants in the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2021 and the Naval Defence Exhibition NAVDEX 2021, which will be held from 21 to 25 February in Abu Dhabi, will be exempt from the ten-day quarantine procedure upon arrival in the Emirate capital, according to the event organisers in a statement sent to The Diplomat by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates.
The communiqué states that “this step has been taken to facilitate the arrival of international delegations”. Visitors must present their event badge, printed on A4 paper, at any border of the country and will not be asked to wear tracking bracelets. However, visitors will not be exempt from undergoing PCR testing or other current guidelines prior to entering Abu Dhabi.
The Emirates authorities have designed and implemented a wide range of health and safety measures at IDEX 2021 and NAVDEX 2021 to ensure the safety of all participants and visitors, who will be required to follow social distancing standards and wear masks at all facilities.
