The headquarters of Prestomedia hosted, on Wednesday, September 24, an event organized by The Diplomat in Spain in collaboration with the Quirónsalud Group, dedicated to reflecting on the main challenges and advances in women’s comprehensive health.
Under the title “Women’s Health,” the roundtable brought together specialists from Ruber International Hospital of the Quirónsalud Group, who shared with members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain the latest medical insights in gynecology, obstetrics, assisted reproduction, menopause, and aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
In a session moderated by public health specialist Dr. José Ignacio Echániz, Dr. Juan Vidal, Head of the Women’s Unit, opened the discussion with an overview of advances in comprehensive care for women throughout the different stages of life. He underscored the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, while reviewing some of the most innovative techniques in gynecology and obstetrics that improve both maternal and fetal outcomes, thereby strengthening reproductive health.
Dr. Vega Cabezuelo, an expert in infertility and assisted reproduction, explained how science is expanding options for those facing reproductive challenges. She presented the latest developments in assisted reproduction techniques and personalized treatments that increase success rates while minimizing risks. She also emphasized the impact of new multidisciplinary approaches that incorporate immunological and genetic factors into infertility treatment.
For her part, Dr. Elena Meliá focused on menopause, presenting the most recent medical strategies to improve quality of life during this stage. She explained that the current approach goes beyond managing vasomotor symptoms, encompassing emotional, cognitive, and bone health. She discussed individualized hormone therapy and other therapeutic alternatives, stressing the importance of a personalized and empathetic approach for women during both perimenopause and postmenopause.
Finally, prior to a lively exchange with the audience, Dr. César Casado, Head of the Department of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery, presented advances in treatments aimed at promoting both physical and emotional well-being. He highlighted the use of minimally invasive techniques that support recovery, enhance aesthetics, and preserve functionality, always with a personalized approach to optimize patients’ quality of life.
The event, which was attended by numerous women diplomats accredited in Spain, was consolidated as a space for scientific exchange and dissemination, strengthening the link between cutting-edge medicine and the international community.
