Next Friday is the premiere of the French production film Mysterious Murder on the Mountain (Un ours dans le Juraaka). Franck Dubosc directs, writes and co-stars in this black comedy in the style of Fargo, seen by 1.5 million viewers in France.
The film combines comedy, suspense and ethical dilemmas in a mountainous setting, with a cast headed by César winner Laure Calamy, Benoît Poelvoorde, Joséphine de Meaux and two-time César winner Emmanuelle Devos.
Mysterious mountain murder tells of how Michel and Cathy, a mature couple, lead a monotonous life in the mountains. When a bear breaks in front of Michel’s car, there is a traffic accident that kills two drug dealers and reveals a loot of two million euros. The couple decide to cover up the accident and keep the money, something that will cause a turn in their lives and generate suspicions of the local police.
