The Casa de América headquarters in Madrid will host a concert by the Sinfonía por el Perú Youth Choir on July 27 at 7:00 p.m., in collaboration with the Embassy of Peru in Spain. The event will take place in the Gabriela Mistral Amphitheater (entrance at C/ Marqués del Duero, 2). Admission is free until capacity is reached.
Sinfonía por el Perú is a non-profit social organization, founded and chaired by the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez. Since its creation fifteen years ago, this initiative has worked to transform the lives of children and young people through free, collective musical training. To date, it has positively impacted the lives of more than 35,000 beneficiaries and their families.
Currently, more than 6,400 children and adolescents find in Sinfonía por el Perú a safe haven, a space for personal development, and high-level artistic training. Distributed across more than thirty locations throughout ten regions of Peru, the beneficiaries not only learn music but also strengthen essential skills and values such as discipline, respect, cooperation, and leadership.
The organization is aligned with universal principles such as Human Rights and the Rights of the Child, declared by the United Nations, and is guided by the global goals established by the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Symphony for Peru demonstrates that music has the power to change the world. The young people participating in this initiative are writing a new story, one where music is the spark that ignites change. Through their dedication and effort, they are building a legacy of resilience, beauty, and hope.
