“The Pleasure Is Mine,” by Reem Kherici, at the Institut Français in Madrid

On June 17th, the preview screening of “The Pleasure Is Mine,” a French comedy as funny as it is moving, takes place. The film explores desire, relationships, and female pleasure. Alexandra Lamy and François Cluzet star in this irreverent and tender story inspired by true events.

The screening will be held at the Institut Français de Madrid Theatre (Calle Marqués de la Ensenada, 10), on Wednesday, June 17th at 8:00 pm. Price: €6 / €4 with the IF Pass. Book now.

“Fanny and Tom have been happily married for 20 years. However, one day a shocking secret comes to light: Fanny has never had an orgasm. Tom, an engineer by profession, decides to set to work creating an invention that will revolutionize female pleasure. Quite a challenge. The couple then embarks on an adventure as outlandish as it is moving, one that will transform their relationship forever.”

Inspired by the couple who invented “The Womanizer,” the female vibrator that revolutionized the sex toy market, “Pleasure Is Mine” is the first film to bring together two heavyweights of French comedy: Alexandra Lamy (Who’s Who?) and François Cluzet (The Intouchables).

They play off each other in this touching and charming film about female pleasure and sex in later life. Directed (and co-written with Gari Kikoïne and David Solal) by Reem Kherici (The Wedding Planner, Paris at All Costs), who also plays a key role in the comedy: that of the sex therapist who opens the female protagonist’s eyes.

The cast is rounded out by François-Xavier Demaison (The Divorced Men’s Club), Kyan Khojandi (The Toast), and Delphine Barril (Murder Mystery in the Mountains).

“Pleasure Is Mine” had its Spanish premiere at the 10th Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival (BCN FILM FEST), in the “Cinema amb Gracia” section, dedicated exclusively to popular comedies from around the world. Subsequently, the film was screened at the Silver Film Festival in Bilbao, the 55+ International Film Festival, which took place at the end of April. Its release in Spanish cinemas will be on June 19.
