Casa Asia is collaborating once again with the “East of Eden” series at FIRE!! Barcelona LGBTQ+ Film Festival. The program features Asian films that are part of an increasingly inclusive festival focused on queer themes.
These are courageous, daring, and necessary films, made in countries and environments where concepts such as sexual diversity, gender identity, and LGBTQ+ rights remain controversial. This year’s program includes the films: 3670 (South Korea), Montréal, ma belle (China/Canada), Jimpa (Australia), The Crowd (Iran), and Listen Up! (Pakistan/Iran/Norway); and the short films A Thing About Kashem (Bangladesh) and The Mould (Iran).
This new edition offers an honest, profound, and moving look at the struggles faced by LGBTQ+ people in very different cultural contexts.
