“Africa facing the development financing crisis,” at the Fundación Alternativas

Next Thursday, May 21, the Fundación Alternativas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation invite you to reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing international cooperation today with the debate “Africa Facing the Development Financing Crisis.”

The withdrawal of development aid by the United States (USA) has marked a turning point in global dynamics, leading to the dismantling of programs without transition processes and leaving millions of people without access to basic services such as healthcare and education.

At the same time, this situation has opened an urgent debate on development financing models and how they should be structured in the future. From the African continent comes a clear demand: to move towards more equitable negotiation models, where the local context and sovereignty take center stage.

The debate will take place at 11:00 a.m. on May 21.
