The Instituto Italiano di Cultura celebrates World Italian Cinema Day

On the occasion of the celebration of World Italian Cinema Day, the Instituto Italiano di Cultura in Madrid will present next Tuesday, 20 January at 7.30 p.m., the screening of the film Anna, directed and played by Monica Guerritore and dedicated to the eternal actress of Italian cinema, Anna Magnani.

Rome, 21 March 1956. Anna Magnani (Monica Guerritore) wanders the streets of the eternal city waiting for a call that could change her life: the Oscar for The Tattooed Rose. It is a night suspended between hope and melancholy, a crossing of lights and shadows. While the world celebrates her as the greatest Italian actress, Anna faces an intimate pain: the final separation from Roberto Rossellini, the love that marked her forever. Through his eyes and those of the young Carol Levi, who will become his agent and confidante, the film retraces the crucial moments in Magnani’s career and life: the clashes with Cinecittà, the febrile passions, the return to the theatre, and a love which, despite everything, never left her.

Annual ticket (can be purchased on site). Reservation is required in confirmations.iicmadrid@gmail.com indicating name, surname and telephone contact of all persons for whom the reservation is requested and in the subject “Anna”.
