The Spanish Government has condemned the “unjustifiable terrorist attack” perpetrated this Friday, December 26, in the towns of Ein Harod and Beit Shean, in northern Israel, and has conveyed its condolences to the families and friends of the two victims, as well as its wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.

“The Spanish Government calls for an end to the cycles of violence whose main victims are innocent civilians through the urgent implementation of the two-state solution, the path for Israel and Palestine to coexist in peace and security,” the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues.

Two people have died in northern Israel in an attack allegedly carried out by a Palestinian from the West Bank. According to Israeli authorities, the victims are a 68-year-old man, who was run over, and an 18-year-old woman, who was stabbed to death. Two other people were injured.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the army to act “forcefully” through a punitive operation in the West Bank town of Qabaitya, where the attacker allegedly came from.
