Strategies for cooperation between Spain and South-East Asia: new perspectives

Tomorrow Wednesday from 10 o’clock, Centro Casa Asia-Madrid (calle Mayor, 69) and ASEMPEA organize a round table on Strategies for cooperation between Spain and Southeast Asia: new perspectives. Free activity upon registration at this link.

The aim of this event is to analyse the opportunities for collaboration between Spain and ASEAN countries, especially in the areas of trade and investment.

Southeast Asia has established itself as one of the most dynamic and promising regions in the world, thanks to its sustained growth, young population and growing strategic weight in international trade. In the coming years, this economic bloc is expected to become the world’s fourth largest economy. The current geopolitical context, the signing of free trade agreements between the European Union and several countries in the region, as well as the above-average growth rates in Asia underline the importance that this area will have for Europe and, in particular, for Spain in the coming years.

Although the Spanish presence in the region remains limited, this transformation represents a unique opportunity to expand economic and institutional activity in an area that demands strong partners, technology and experience in sectors where Spain has a recognized international leadership.

After a welcome speech by José Pintor, director general of Casa Asia, will participate in the event Tomás González, president of Asempea (representative of Idom); Mr. Muhammad Najib, ambassador of Indonesia to Spain, president of the Asean Group in Madrid, and Alicia Coronil, chief economist at Singular Bank.
