Presentation of two books on Palestine at the Casa Árabe in Madrid

As part of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Casa Árabe presents tomorrow at 7 pm in its auditorium the books Palestina, la tierra estrecha (Palestine, the narrow land), by journalist Beatriz Lecumberri, and La infancia palestina y la supervivencia: hacia el fin de las pesadillas (Palestinian children and survival. Towards the end of nightmares), of Fermín Aparicio Sáez. Free admission until capacity is full. The event will be held in Spanish.

Palestine, the narrow land offers an intimate portrait of a land where pain, injustice and resilience are intertwined. Lecumberri’s chronicles leave no room for optimism and yet their irresistible authenticity moves, in an era marked by information opacity, radicalization and suspicion.

Palestinian children and survival. Towards the end of nightmares, by Fermín Aparicio Sáez, is a book of stories about the desires and dreams of boys and girls from a place where it seems frankly difficult to envision a hopeful future. And yet, even in the worst of circumstances, there is a Palestine waiting for another possible world.

The presentation will be attended by the authors as well as Jamil Mahmoud Abou Saada, director of the General Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe. Presented and moderated by Karim Hauser, coordinator of Culture and International Relations at Casa Árabe. The event can be followed live on Casa Árabe’s YouTube channel.
