The Fundación Carlos de Amberes and the Compañía Garcilasos present next Thursday, November 27 at 7 pm and within the VI Festival Renacen the concert Hierro y Verde (2023), last installment of the record trilogy of Iris Azquinezer, dedicated to the Suite for solo cello, of J.S.Bach.
This project, deeply personal, combines the works of the master of Eisenach with compositions of Azquinezer’s own, written in the same tones and charged with synesthetic symbolism. Each suite evokes a colour: from the iron grey of the fifth in C minor, which represents old age and spiritual transit, to the luminous green of the sixth in D major, symbol of joy and light. Hierro y Verde culminates a journey begun with Azul y Jade (2014) and Blanco y Oro (2019), where the cello becomes the voice of the soul.
