Casa Asia celebrates the International Day of Music with Korean tradition

On the occasion of the International Day of Music, Casa Asia organizes this afternoon at 7 pm a small recital of Korean songs, with singer Eun Ae Lee and musician David Alegre, members of the group Leesarang.

The duo will perform a repertoire of folk songs from north and south Korea and some traditional Spanish songs, with traditional Korean singing voice accompanied by viola, piano, gayageum and janggu. A journey through several centuries of musical tradition.

From the impulse and artistic concerns of the Korean singer and percussionist Eun Ae Lee, Leesarang is born, a space of encounter with a common desire to recognize: East in the West and vice versa. From the vocal techniques of traditional Korean music to European lyrical singing; from Korean instruments such as the Janggu or the Gayageum to Western classics and traditions such as the piano, viola or tambourines. An enormous range of possibilities that encourages a desired and necessary artistic dialogue in which we celebrate our common points and let ourselves also be caught up by the strength of how diverse there is in our traditions.
