Report on democracy in Spain 2024 by the Fundación Alternativas

 

Next Monday, October 27 at 5 pm, the Fundación Alternativas presents at the Congress of Deputies in Madrid the new edition of the Democracy Report referring to the year 2024.

 

In addition to including the characteristics of the Quality Index of Democracy in Spain in the year mentioned, as in previous editions, various analyses on the functioning of democracy are offered, organized into three blocks: The political context, the Welfare State and public debate. Each of these blocks contains three relevant chapters on the functioning of democratic institutions and the role of the different actors interacting in our society. This is another year to carry out a monitoring and evaluation exercise of democracy in Spain.

 

Will welcome the attendees Isaura Leal, second secretary of the Congress of Deputies, and make the institutional presentation Jesús Ruiz-Huerta, director of Public Policies of the Fundación Alternativas, and Emilio Pajares Montolío, Deputy Director-General for Publications and Documentation at the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies.

 

The contents of the report will be presented by Araceli Mateos, director of the report, political scientist and professor at the University of Salamanca; Lluís Orriols Galve, author of the report and Professor at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, and Miguel Artola, author of the report and professor at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid.
