Tomorrow, Tuesday at 8 pm, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid will host a special concert dedicated to Alessandro Scarlatti, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his death.
Held as part of the cycle In Scena a Palazzo, the event will feature soprano Angela Papale and pianist Fabio Marra, top performers on the international music scene, which will pay tribute to the composer considered one of the founding fathers of Italian opera.
With a programme that celebrates the richness and universality of the Italian lyric tradition, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible heritage of humanity, the concert will offer the Madrid public the opportunity to rediscover the modernity and expressive intensity of one of the great masters of the Baroque.
Angela Papale, soprano trained at the Conservatory of Milan, perfected her vocal preparation with great masters such as Magda Olivero, Paolo Montarsolo and Fiorenza Cossotto, receiving praise from personalities such as Giulietta Simionato and Alberto Zedda. Winner of numerous opera competitions, she develops an intense international activity that has led her to perform in Europe, the United States, Latin America and Asia, obtaining unanimous critical and public recognition.
Maestro Fabio Marra, graduated with honors in Piano, Composition and Orchestra Direction, develops an intense activity as pianist, conductor and composer, with successful tours through Europe, the United States, South America and Asia. He has collaborated with important musical institutions and conducted orchestras such as the Accademia Strumentale Italiana, the Bari Symphony, the Nuova Sinfonica of Milan and the Symphony Orchestra of the Guaira Theatre in São Paulo.
