The immersive exhibition of the divine figure and key woman, ‘Cleopatra’ arrives

From next 12 September, the Nave 16 of Matadero Madrid presents Cleopatra, the immersive exhibition, the fourth production of Madrid Artes Digitales, and the most ambitious to date.

More than an exhibition, this original creation is a multi-sensory journey through Ptolemaic Egypt that invites you to discover Cleopatra as a political strategist, divine figure and key woman in the history of power. An unprecedented cultural and technological experience that combines innovative storytelling with new immersive formats to bring the world of Egypt’s last great queen to life.

In this new season, the exhibition is expanded with experiences that transform the way of telling the story of Cleopatra. The visit begins with a spectacular hologram that, without the need for glasses or devices, connects the rise of Alexander the Great with the decline of ancient Egypt in front of Rome. Thanks to an advanced projection and an immersive soundtrack, the Ptolemaic dynasty comes alive in three dimensions with the appearance of Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony.

Along with this premiere, visitors will also enjoy interactive tables to explore the city of Alexandria, immersive mirrors that transform them into Cleopatra herself, and an impressive videomapping on the Lighthouse of Alexandria, reviving one of the great symbols of the ancient world. An astronomical projection of the constellations adds a new level of wonder, evoking Cleopatra’s gaze toward the gods.

All these innovations are integrated with the already consolidated experiences of Madrid Artes Digitales. The Immersive Room, with 1,200 m2 of projections and 8-meter high screens, offers a 30-minute film about the reign of Cleopatra, produced with a new system of state-of-the-art projectors. The Virtual Reality Room immerses the visitor in the submerged ruins of Alexandria and in the legendary tomb of Cleopatra, while the Metaverse Room allows to walk from the Ptolemaic catacombs to the tent of Mark Antony in full battle.

For the first time, the exhibition also incorporates projections on the ceiling, which extend the immersion, and a musical mapping of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, reinforcing the innovative nature of the proposal. All this is included in the ticket price, making Cleopatra, the immersive exhibition the most complete and ambitious production ever presented by Madrid Artes Digitales.
