Last year 2024, Casa Mediterráneo won the celebration of an action framed in the policy of New European Bauhaus of a satellite event from Brussels in Alicante: the MEDCITY. Organized with the collaboration of the College of Architects of Alicante, in the House.
Casa Mediterráneo is a consortium of Public Diplomacy of the Governments of Spain and the Generalitat Valenciana and strives, among other various fronts, to make architecture a matter of public interest and an engine of the common good.
MEDCITY was a success. With unsuspected derivatives, one of them has been the choice of the House as a location for a celebration this 2025 of an architecture festival called TAC! TAC! is an annual festival, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda in collaboration with the Fundacioìn Arquia.
The festival promotes innovation and experimentation in architecture through the construction of a temporary pavilion in different cities of the Spanish geography.
In this event joins the contemporary architecture, young practice, reflection on the urban and social through cultural meetings and activities around the pavilion that will dialogue with citizens.
After its passage through Granada, San Sebastian, Valencia, Vigo and San Fernando/ Cadiz, the festival returns in 2025 with a double edition in two very unique locations: Casa Mediterráneo in Alicante and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Since its launch, TAC! , has established itself as a space for experimentation and reflection on the role of ephemeral architecture in the construction of dynamic, inclusive and sustainable public spaces.
And this makes it possible to give arguments for reflection to those meetings and cultural activities around the pavilion that has been the winner of a contest whose result has already been presented to the media last April, in Madrid.
The festival continues its mission to bring contemporary architecture closer to citizens through innovative installations that reimagine the urban space from 16 October until 15 November in Casa Mediterráneo and the territory of Alicante. And from 16 November to mid-December in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
This is a world where cities face increasingly complex challenges… And the celebration around an ephemeral architecture can be presented as a key tool to explore new ways of living, promote social interaction and question the future of the built environment. To be built.
