Palestine. Documented history of 100 years of war is a comprehensive and carefully documented account of one of the most complex, protracted and sensitive conflicts in contemporary history. Through a chronological and analytical journey, the book offers a detailed view of the most important events that have marked the development of Palestine from the end of the Ottoman Empire to the present day.
The work addresses in depth the historical causes of the conflict, including the role of the colonial powers after World War I, the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate, the partition of Palestine by the UN and the successive Arab-Israeli wars. It also examines the evolution of Palestinian nationalism, resistance to occupation, the creation of the State of Israel and the many peace initiatives, almost all of which have failed due to the lack of impartial mediation and geopolitical interests at stake.
In its final pages, the book analyzes the recent devastating turn in Gaza and the West Bank, placing these events within a broader framework of decades of occupation, territorial expansion and diplomatic failures. The book balances the historical account with a critical look, making it a valuable tool for scholars, researchers and lecturers as well as readers interested in international politics.
