The film tells how the nicknamed “the greatest of all time”, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was the most promising Formula 1 phenomenon in the 1990s until a crash on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he is a nomadic driver on hire who is contacted by his former teammate Rubén Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling Formula 1 team that is on the verge of bankruptcy. Ruben convinces Sonny to return to Formula 1 and have one last chance to save the team and be the best in the world. Your partner will be rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the star driver of the team who is determined to impose his own pace. But, with the roar of the engines, Sonny’s past begins to affect him and he discovers that in Formula 1, the teammate is the most fierce rival, and that the road to redemption can not be traveled alone.
