The Fundación Excelentia presents Puccini’s opera ‘Tosca’ in concert

Next Monday, June 9 at 7.30 pm, the Fundación Excelentia presents in the Symphony Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid the opera Tosca, with music by Giacomo Puccini and libretto in Italian by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa.

Tosca was successfully premiered in Rome on 14 January 1900 at the Teatro Costanzi. The text of the play is based on an intense drama, La Tosca, by Victorien Sardou, presented in Paris in 1887.

The opera Tosca is considered one of the most representative of the Italian verista repertoire for its dramatic intensity and for containing some of the most beautiful arias of the repertoire. The plot combines love, intrigue, violence, passion and death. Along with Madama Butterfly and La Bohème, he is part of the trio of Puccini’s most famous operas.

La Sociedad Coral Excelentia de Madrid, together with the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia and the conductor Kynan Johns, will perform the main roles of Rebeka Lokar (Toska), Eduardo Sandoval (Cavaradossi), Manuel Más (Scarpia), Ihor Voievodin (Angelotti) and Vicente Martínez (Sacristán), among others. Tickets can be purchased at this link or by calling 91 4574061 / 91 4583089 or sending an email to reservas@fundacionexcelentia.org.
