The Instituto Cervantes presents Magic ‘The accent on astonishment’

 

This afternoon at 7 pm, the Instituto Cervantes of Madrid (calle Alcalá, 49) presents in its Auditorium the show Magic “The accent on astonishment”, a meeting at a point where the illusion becomes strong.

You find ventriloquism, theater, the impossible, juggling, fairy tale, but above all magic. Four magicians, each from his corner, will show their interspersed acts allowing each vision to reach the public in a definite way.

 

With a personal and unmistakable style, Paco Agrado has dedicated his career to exploring the fusion between magic and narrative. Its proposals stand out for their innovative, surprising and theatrical character, breaking the boundaries of conventional illusionism. He has been awarded at internationally renowned festivals and has also developed a facet as a lecturer and author of publications specialized in magic.

 

Jaime Figueroa, ventriloquist and comic magician, is one of the contemporary renovators of a discipline with a long tradition. Figueroa is committed to updating the ventriloquism to adapt it to current tastes and sensibilities, without losing technical rigor or mastery. Graduated in Fine Arts and Audiovisual Communication, has received multiple national and international awards, and has performed in countries such as France, Germany and Finland. His approach combines humor, stage poetry and constant research into the expressive possibilities of the art of giving voice to dolls.

 

Miguel Muñoz is a magician, circus artist, co-director of the company Puntocero, and known for his poetic and visual magic. He has been recognized with some of the most important awards in illusionism worldwide, including the World Magic Grand Prize (FISM 2018), and has collaborated with names such as Tim Burton, Disney, and companies like DV8 Physical Theatre or Nofit State Circus. His work combines impeccable technique, aesthetic sensitivity and a dreamlike narrative that places him among the great references of contemporary illusionism.

 

Miguel Ángel Gea is considered one of the most versatile and respected illusionists in the current scene. He has performed on stages all over the world-USA, Japan, China, France, Argentina, among others-and was awarded the Grand Prize at the Congreso Nacional de Zaragoza (2004). He is the author and co-author of numerous books on the history and technique of magic, and has created various shows that merge illusionism with other artistic disciplines. As director and trainer, he has promoted many magical study and research meetings. He also graduated from the Nouveau Colombier School of Physical Theatre, directed by José Piris.
