La Filarmónica brings the Symphony of Galicia to the Auditorio Nacional

The Society of Concerts The Philharmonic presents on May 6 at 19.30 in the Auditorio Nacional de Música to the Sinfónica of Galicia, an institution with an exemplary track record that has led it to be widely recognized as a European orchestra.

From within the same orchestra, the career of Roberto González-Monjas has been forged, an exceptional conductor who shares the title of Galicia with the Mozarteum Salzburg Orchestra.

Referring to the concert program, director Roberto González-Monjas comments: “First, we present Dvorák’s Symphony No. 9. That’s all. It is a very important culmination in the Dvorák catalogue. It was composed in the USA and is a capital work. Pan y Eco, by Sibelius, stands out for its pastoral aesthetic. It is a short piece, but spectacular. A wonderful work of orchestral virtuosity. The solo pianist, Jan Lisiecki, was already a child prodigy and has become a prodigious artist. He is a thoughtful, committed and honest musician”.

The concert program is completed by Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, in E minor, Op. 11. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
