The most significant professional event held annually by the Cuban tourism industry, the International Tourism Fair, FITCUBA 2025, will be held from April 30 to May 3 in Havana, at the Morro – Cabaña complex.
Airlines, tour operators, travel agencies, hoteliers, carriers, suppliers, related professionals, etc., will attend this annual event that has significantly boosted the plurality and quality of products and services offered, It has a favourable impact on the obvious growth in tourist arrivals to the island.
From 2005 to 2011, the Morro-Cabaña Historical Park was the official headquarters of FITCuba. This complex, composed of the Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro and the Fortaleza San Carlos de La Cabaña, is part of the fortification system of Havana, and was declared by UNESCO in 1982, World Cultural Heritage.
The Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, organizer of the event, as part of its strategic policy in the sector, decided to bring the International Tourism Fair to the destinations that are intended to enhance. In this way, the Fair was held in 2012 at Cayo Santa María, in the province of Villa Clara; in 2013 at Varadero; in 2014 at Havana, in 2015 at Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo in Jardines del Rey. Returns to Havana in 2016, when it was declared a Wonder City.
The Tourism Fair has managed to position itself as the main professional event of the Cuban tourist industry; becoming an ideal space for contact between specialists, managers and tourist companies with presence in Cuba. It has allowed us to draw up strategies, policies and actions in the tourist market; to become familiar with Cuban destinations and products, as well as to know the culture of the country invited.
This year, the International Tourism Fair is dedicated to Cuban traditions and will have the People’s Republic of China as its Guest of Honor. This event, which brings together professionals in the tourism sector, aims to highlight the natural and cultural wealth of Cuba, promote Cuba and in particular the destination Havana for its hotel products and extra hotels, its heritage, culture, gastronomy and history.
The fair will be attended by representatives of various travel agencies, tour operators and government entities, who will share their experiences and proposals to promote tourism that admires local traditions.
The event will also pay tribute to local communities, highlighting their fundamental role in preserving Cuban culture and tourism in the country. The fair is expected to attract thousands of visitors, both national and international, interested in learning more about the opportunities offered by Cuba as a tourist destination.
