A plane chartered by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) left for Lebanon on Friday with ten tons of medical supplies, medicines and blankets.

According to the Agency in a press release, this second shipment, which joins a first flight that transported 1.5 tons of medicines and medical material to Beirut, transports more than 10 tons grouped in 56 pallets, of which 26 belong to the Agency and contain medical supplies and essential medicines, all for an estimated value of almost 90,000 euros. This aid is part of Spain’s commitment to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable people in Lebanon, especially in the health sector.

In addition, on the same aircraft, the Spanish Red Cross has sent 30 additional pallets, with almost 5,000 blankets destined for the Lebanese Red Cross. These blankets, valued at approximately 30,000 euros, will be distributed among families affected by the difficult living conditions they face due to the crisis and the arrival of winter.

This shipment of humanitarian aid is made possible thanks to the coordinated effort between AECID and the Spanish Red Cross, who, through their emergency agreements, continue to provide assistance in critical situations such as the one Lebanon is currently experiencing.
