The Instituto Cervantes will bring together a total of 110 professionals for three days in Toledo, including heads of studies from the institution’s centers around the world and staff from the Academic Directorate, to address aspects of the organization, objectives, teaching plan and improvements of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
The meeting, which will be held from March 19 to 21 on the campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in Toledo, will be inaugurated today by the director of the Instituto Cervantes, Luis García Montero; the rector of the UCLM, José Julián Garde, and the director of the General UCLM Foundation, Juan Ramón de Páramo Argüelles. The general secretary of the entity, Carmen Noguero, will also participate, who will address the Action Plan of the Cervantes Institute 2024-2026; and the Academic Director of the Instituto Cervantes, Carmen Pastor, who will present the objectives of the Academic Directorate and share the balance of the teaching activity.
During these three days, participants will debate issues such as the value of the Instituto Cervantes Center Accreditation System (SACIC), collaboration between the headquarters and the centers, training needs, the challenges posed by early childhood education, teaching models online or the involvement of teaching teams in certification projects. The program will end on Thursday, March 21, with the presentation of the conclusions by Carmen Pastor and Álvaro Santa Cecilia, director and deputy academic director, respectively.
