Theatrical expression and flamenco in ‘Woman’, by the dancer Aarón Vivancos

The Teatro Reina Victoria in Madrid presents until 26 November the show Woman, produced, created, directed, choreographed and composed by Aarón Vivancos, a member of the famous Vivancos family of dance and flamenco shows.

Woman, more than a musical, is an imposing show that combines the full force of music, theatrical expression, dance, costumes and audiovisuals to highlight the historical power of women, a reflection on situations that many women have experienced at different times in their lives. It is a plural and diverse concept that reclaims the ideology of a freedom that arises from the empowerment of women in the face of their own and other people’s demons. Its epicentre is the emergence of a force without violence, of a struggle without opposites.

Through 7 acts, the work evokes the creative resilience of women who move the world by championing life and does so through a multidisciplinary show that combines emotive dramaturgy with impressive choreography, great audiovisual effects (large-scale video art, 3D effects) and original music inspired by great film soundtracks, without abandoning the roots of flamenco rhythms. Tickets can be purchased here.
